On the 25th of January 1875 a young man by the name Ole Berg-Hansen placed an advertisement in the Christiania (Oslo) newspaper “Morgenbladet”. It proclaimed that on 31st of January 1875 he would receive cargo and passengers at “Christiania harbour or the nearest place where the sea-ice will meet open waters”. That ad represented the modest start of this travel agency.
