When companies and business partners violate fundamental human rights and important issues of conscience, it is our responsibility to remove related products and services, says Berg-Hansen’s partner, Petter Brodahl.
– In line with our corporate responsibility and focus on sustainability, we will in the future place greater demands on our suppliers and partners. It is absolutely crucial that there is consistency between our way of operating and what guidelines our partners are pursuing, says Brodahl.
Our «principles of supplier behavior» describe our requirements for sustainable and socially responsible operations. Among other things, we will respect human rights, oppose corruption, and follow local laws and regulations. Sharia law, as practiced in Brunei, violates the most fundamental human rights. This is contrary to our values, principles and strategies and is not something we will convey to our travelers.
We no longer sell Dorchester Collection!
Berg-Hansen has decided to remove the access to the Brunei-owned Dorchester Collection Chain in all their booking channels. The reason is that the introduction of the Sharia criminal Law practiced in Brunei is incompatible with our values.
